TT #179: Infrequent public transport explained to motorists

Infrequent service on public transport is like boom gates for car drivers except the waits are often longer. A government serious about improved mobility should be removing both.

Missing from picture:

Road closed on Sundays and public holidays. Please use alternative thirty-kilometre round trip while waiting 34 minutes at the first gate, 18 minutes at the second gate and 57 minutes at the third gate despite getting green lights all the way and reaching the third gate one minute early. Gates 1 and 3 will open for ten seconds once an hour, while gate 2 will open for ten seconds twice an hour as it is a SmartGate and has a fancy orange dot-matrix LED display showing the time when it will open. Gates close for the night at 8:38PM, 9:13PM and 6:06PM respectively despite the first gate having a "minimum standards" sticker stating that the gate remains open until no less than 9PM seven days a week.
