All maps have changed due to network alterations starting today in the Sunshine, Footscray and Brighton areas.
The changes are as follows:
The changes are as follows:
216/219/220 (Sunshine - CBD): The 216/219 corridor gets simplified to form a single Route 216 between Sunshine and Melbourne CBD. Both this corridor and the 220 get weekend frequency upgrades which makes them appear on more maps. The new route 429, which replaces the outer part of the 219, makes it on to the after 10pm maps. More on these changes here.
216/219/220 (Alfred Hospital/Brighton area): These three routes are replaced by new routes 603 and 604. These operate every 20 minutes instead of every 15 minutes that their predecessors ran (the 216/219 as a combination until they split). This means that these corridors vanish from the 15 minute map. However they remain on the 20 minute map with a longer more frequent corridor extending to Brighton Beach Station. The weekend and after 10pm maps also change. More on these changes here.
These edits won't be the only amendments. In two weeks changes will occur to Melton area buses . Most of these are new or extended services. However others will leave some passengers worse off, particularly along Ballarat Rd, due to some unfortunate timetabling. More on this in a future Timetable Tuesday.
For now though, check out the now revised Melbourne Public Transport Frequent Network maps including maps for all seven days. And also maps for public transport after 10pm. Rememember that you can show all or some modes and change the frequency threshold desired.

Our 84 year old friend was a frequent user of the 219 from the corner of Bay Street and Asling Street to Malvern Road, Prahran. While she can walk well, it is too far for her to walk to the corner of Bay and New Streets. She is severely disadvantaged and I guess it will be taxis for her now.
Day 1 of the 603 I was surprised.
16 passengers at 17:00.
6 at 21:15.
(Not up to the 20 - But I didn't go to the end)
I haven't seen it advertised anywhere - but better loadings than I have seen for months.
