New Connex train timetables add 200 weekly services with changed platforms

A new Connex train timetable starts today. It adds 200 extra weekly services across most lines and extends electrified trains to Craigieburn. There are also platform changes at Flinders Street. A quote from their website item here:

The new Connex train timetable comes into effect on Sunday, 30 September and platform changes at Flinders Street will also take effect.

The platform changes have been made to provide greater certainty to customers using services that have previously moved between different platforms. It also allows for the 200 additional weekday services to come into effect.

As of Sunday, the following platform changes will occur:

  • Alamein and Blackburn trains running through City Loop will depart from Platforms 2 and 3 (previously 4 and 5)
  •  Alamein and Blackburn trains not running through City Loop will depart from Platforms 6 and 7 (previously 4 and 5)
  • Frankston trains will depart from Platforms 8 and 9 (previously 6 and 7)
  • Sandringham trains will depart from Platforms 12 and 13 during the week and from Platforms 8 and 9 on weekends (previously 8 and 9 on weekdays)
  • Williamstown trains during peak services will depart from Platform 10 (previously 8 and 9)
  •  V/Line passenger trains will depart from Platforms 8 and 9 (previously Platform 10 – Bairnsdale to remain on Platform 10).
